Ijede LCDA took another giant stride towards educational advancement on Tuesday as the Chairman, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of additional classrooms and toilets in four government primary schools across the council area.
Each block of the classrooms has six units while the toilets consist of 4 units each.
She was joined by Hon. Kareem Kabir, Vice Chairman, Ijede LCDA, Hon. Saheed Hassan, APC apex leader, Ijede LCDA, Pastor Olawunmi Ajetunmobi, Secretary, APC apex body in Ikorodu Division, Council Leader, Ijede LCDA and the Chief Imam,Ijede LCDA among others in laying the foundations for the block of classrooms and toilets.
The laudable interventions is aimed at expanding existing facilities and addressing the growing demand for learning spaces. This project will benefit Anglican Nursery and Primary School, Egbin Kingdom Primary School, Methodist Nursery and Primary School, and Community Nursery and Primary School.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba described the project as a lasting investment in the community’s future, emphasising the importance of primary education as the foundation of every child’s development.
“Education remains a cornerstone of my administration. In fulfillment of my promise, additional classrooms are being constructed. I urge the contractors on site to expedite the work for timely completion,” she said
Party leaders, community leaders, stakeholders, Head-teachers, and residents at the event commended the Council Chairman’s foresight and for deeming it fit to construct the much-needed additional classrooms within the LCDA.
